Mother of the Victim Shot by John Amores Outraged Over the Incident

Mother of the Shooting Victim Involving John Amores Furious About the Incident

JOHN AMORES SHOOTING INCIDENT – The mother of the victim shot by the PBA player is enraged over the incident involving her son.

Amores, who was selected by NorthPort in the fifth round of the 2023 PBA Rookie Draft, is under scrutiny for his involvement in a shooting incident. The altercation began during a basketball game in Barangay Salac, where he argued with the victim, identified as Lee Cacalda.

As the situation escalated, Amores allegedly told Cacalda, “Du’n tayo magsuntukan.” Cacalda followed Amores to Barangay Maytalang Uno, where they both got off their motorcycles. At that point, Amores allegedly shot Cacalda with an unknown handgun. Fortunately, despite the shooting, Cacalda was unharmed. Amores then fled the scene, heading toward Pagsanjan.

Earlier today, John Amores surrendered to the police. The PBA player, accompanied by his brother, turned himself in without making any comments regarding the incident. He now faces a charge of attempted murder and is set to undergo an inquest.

The mother of the victim went to the police station, where she expressed her frustration towards Amores, particularly about how the situation escalated into a shooting incident over a basketball game. Apparently, the victim has yet to make any statement.

This recent controversy comes two years after John Amores’ notorious outburst during an NCAA basketball game while representing Jose Rizal University. That incident, which involved a physical confrontation during a match against the College of St. Benilde, resulted in his suspension from the collegiate league. Nevertheless, NorthPort drafted him in the fifth round of the 2023 PBA Rookie Draft, giving him another opportunity in professional basketball.

Throughout his rookie season in the PBA, Amores maintained good conduct, including his performance in Batang Pier’s final game in the Governors’ Cup against TNT Tropang Giga at Smart Araneta Coliseum, just days before the shooting incident. However, this latest controversy may jeopardize his PBA career.
