Fifth Solomon Responds to Viral Teacher on “It’s Showtime”
FIFTH SOLOMON – The former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) housemate reacted to the teacher who mistakenly named the first female president of the Philippines.
A teacher named Tony gained attention after appearing as a contestant on the “Throwbox!” segment of “It’s Showtime” on September 19, where he mistakenly identified Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as the first female president of the Philippines. The correct answer is former President Corazon “Cory” Aquino. This blunder prompted discussions online, especially given Tony’s credentials: he holds a master’s degree, is working towards a doctorate, and has eight years of teaching experience.
In response to the backlash, Tony posted a video apologizing for his error. He expressed frustration that people judged his character based on this single mistake, reminding viewers that everyone can make errors. He found it disheartening that his identity was reduced to that moment on national television.
Tony explained that the pressure of the game, particularly the five-second time limit to respond, contributed to his mistake. He encouraged people to consider how challenging it can be to think clearly in such high-pressure situations. While the question might seem straightforward, the stress of the moment can easily lead to errors.
Fifth Solomon encourages us to be proud of our achievements. He points out that in a world where people often criticize, we should lift ourselves up and celebrate our successes. Everyone makes mistakes, but it’s important to also recognize our efforts and accomplishments. He reminds us that it’s okay to feel proud of who we are and what we’ve done.
In another post, he noted: “The world wants you to play small. Wants you to fail. wants you to be like everyone else. Don’t.” He added: “Yung video ng guro na nagkamali ng sagot sa showtime nakakaloka ang bashers. Parang sa panahon ngayon bawal na magkamali. Sumali siya ng game show. Kinabahan. O baka di niya talaga alam ang sagot. Kasi di siya perpek tulad niyo. Proud siya sa sarili niya. Why not???”
