Herlene Budol Expresses Gratitude and Support for Cancer-Stricken Doc Willie Ong
HERLENE BUDOL – The Kapuso comedienne and actress expressed deep sadness upon learning that Doc Willie Ong, a well-known cardiologist, internist, and health advocate, has been diagnosed with abdominal sarcoma, a rare type of cancer.
On September 14, 2024, Dr. Willie revealed to the public that he is currently undergoing chemotherapy for a 16x13x12-centimeter tumor found in his abdomen, located behind his heart and in front of his spine. The positioning of the tumor has raised concerns that it may worsen without proper treatment.
Herlene Budol, a fan of Doc Willie Ong, shared how he has helped her in the past through his informative videos on social media. In a TikTok video posted on September 15, she fondly referred to him as her “first aid” and credited his advice for helping her recover from various health issues, including hemorrhoids, gout, asthma, and headaches.
She expressed how effective his recommendations have been, especially during stressful times when she was suffering from hemorrhoids. Herlene emphasized that many people, like herself, rely on Dr. Willie for medical advice and urged him to stay strong during his battle with cancer.
Herlene Budol also shared a heartfelt message of encouragement, reminding Dr. Willie that his videos could serve as inspiration during his recovery and that his illness had brought him closer to his family. She added that he didn’t need to be ill to appreciate the bond with his loved ones, and she expressed her prayers for his healing.
In response to the overwhelming public support, Doc Willie Ong took to Facebook to express his gratitude. He acknowledged the love and concern from Filipinos, stating that it motivates him to keep fighting. Dr. Willie poignantly shared that feeling loved provides the strength to face challenges, whereas feeling hated diminishes the will to continue.
