BJMP Speaks on Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, 4 Co-Accused
APOLLO QUIBOLOY – The Pastor will remain in Camp Crame while his four (4) co-accused will be sent to Pasig City Jail according to BJMP.
Last week, the Philippine National Police (PNP) deployed at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City were on intensified operations to search for Pastor Quiboloy. He is faced with multiple charges filed against him in the Philippines and in the United States.
The PNP search operations included drilling activities inside the KOJC compound. The authorities believed that there might be a bunker where Pastor Quiboloy may be hiding. Amid the search operations, the camp of Quiboloy revealed the condition of the Pastor for President Bongbong Marcos on his surrender to the authorities. The PH government did not heed the condition he set.
After more than two (2) weeks of intensified search ops at the KOJC compound, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy was arrested by the PNP authorities. Four (4) co-accused of the Pastor were also nabbed by the authorities and they were recently brought to Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC).
Quiboloy was presented by the authorities in a press conference. However, undeniably, the Pastor being fully-covered sparked doubts on countless netizens. To clear the speculations and doubts, interior secretary Benhur Abalos released unblurred mugshots of Pastor Quiboloy.
At the Pasig RTC where he arrived fully-covered, Quiboloy was asked by one of the members of the media about his message for his followers in KOJC. The Pastor gave a short message — “Tatag lang” which means to be strong.
Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy will remain in the custody of the PNP. He will be detained in the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame.
With regards to his four (4) co-accused, the BJMP said that they will be transferred to Pasig City Jail. Based on the report, the defense department junked the appeal of the camp of the Pastor for the transfer of his custody to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
According to Attorney Israelito Torreon, the legal counsel of the Pastor and the spokesperson of KOJC, security is one of the reasons behind their desire for a transfer of the custody. The camp of Quiboloy also expressed the possibility of seeking a house arrest for the Pastor.
