Andrea del Rosario Shares Details About Her Daughter’s Rare Health Condition
ANDREA DEL ROSARIO – The former member of Viva Hot Babes shared details about her daughter Bea’s rare health condition in an interview with Karen Davila. Andrea revealed that Bea was born with jejunal atresia, a congenital disease causing a rare obstruction in the small intestine.
Andrea discovered the condition during her pregnancy when an ultrasound technician identified an abnormal image that looked like a grape. This finding led to the diagnosis of jejunal atresia, which is characterized by a complete blockage of the proximal small intestine, as described by rarediseases.org.
In simple terms, Andrea explained that Bea’s intestines were tangled, necessitating the removal of a large portion and resulting in a very short gut. This condition also led to a diagnosis of short gut syndrome. Andrea struggled with guilt and self-blame, questioning if she was being punished for something she did wrong.
As Andrea’s faith grew stronger, she learned to view the situation from a Christian perspective. She came to understand that her daughter’s condition was not a form of punishment but rather a challenge unrelated to karma. According to Andrea, Christianity teaches that destiny is influenced by faith in Jesus Christ, not personal actions or guilt.
Managing Bea’s health remains a significant challenge for Andrea. She highlighted the uncertainty of whether the condition will recur, citing a major surgery in January that addressed issues with Bea’s nutrition. Despite the ongoing difficulties, Andrea is proud of how Bea has matured and coped with her health issues. Bea’s response to the challenges, quoting Romans 8:18, reflects her resilience and positive attitude, which has impressed Andrea.
Andrea also expressed gratitude for her current partner, Anthony Garcia, who has provided invaluable support. She noted that Anthony’s positive influence and the welcoming nature of his family have been beneficial for Bea.
