ELY BUENDIA – The lead vocalist of the Eraserheads took to social media, where he gave his reaction to his “Kalokalike” on It’s Showtime.
Ely Buendia is a singer, songwriter, and musician, best known as the frontman of the iconic rock band Eraserheads, one of the most influential bands in the Philippines. Born on November 2, 1970, Buendia played a major role in shaping the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) scene during the 1990s. He significantly contributed to the band’s success with hit songs such as “Ang Huling El Bimbo,” “Pare Ko,” and “With a Smile.”
After the Eraserheads disbanded in 2002, Buendia continued his musical career with other bands like Pupil and Apartel. He is widely recognized for his versatility as an artist, shifting between rock, pop, and other genres throughout his career.
In a recent It’s Showtime segment for “KalokaLike Face 4,” an impersonator of Ely Buendia wowed both the audience and judges with his striking resemblance to the iconic musician. Judges Teddy Corpuz and Jugs Jugueta were particularly impressed, even standing up in amazement due to the impersonator’s uncanny likeness.
Ely Buendia himself took to social media, where he gave his reaction to his “Kalokalike” on It’s Showtime. In a video posted on his Instagram account, Ely is seen watching a clip of his impersonator’s appearance on the show. He humorously commented, “Di ko naman kamukha ‘yan eh,” while watching the clip with his friends.
Meanwhile, Kalokalike was a popular segment on the noontime show It’s Showtime in the Philippines. It featured contestants who impersonated local and international celebrities. Participants not only dressed like the celebrities but also mimicked their mannerisms, voices, and performances, creating a humorous and entertaining competition.
