Willie Revillame Ends Call with Contestant Watching a Rival Show
WILLIE REVILLAME – The host went viral after he abruptly ended a call with a potential contestant on his show, ‘Wil-to-Win,’ upon learning she was watching ‘Family Feud’.
During the ‘Dear Willie’ segment, where participants have the chance to win cash prizes, Willie contacted a contestant who seemed unaware of his show. When he asked her, “Programa… ‘e ano bang pinapanood niyong programa?” she replied that she was watching GMA’s ‘Family Feud.’
Upon hearing this, Willie quickly ended the call, telling the contestant that it was a pity she couldn’t participate and that she should continue watching ‘Family Feud’ instead. He then told his viewers that this incident served as proof that his show was not scripted.
Willie also read the contestant’s letter, in which she mentioned that she wanted to join the show to support her children’s education. However, Willie explained his decision to refuse her participation, stating, “Family Feud pala pinapanood niyo tapos bibigyan ko pa siya ng P50,000.”
This incident comes after Willie had previously criticized ‘Family Feud,’ calling it ‘unoriginal,’ especially as his show’s ratings have been declining. The event sparked discussions online, highlighting the competitive nature of television programming.
