Husband in Open Relationship with Wife Welcomes Her Boyfriend into Their Home
OPEN RELATIONSHIP – Prince Soy, a Japanese chef and vlogger, recently got attention not for his popular additive-free okara granola but for the unusual situation in his marriage with his wife, Seira.
Married for three years, Prince and Seira have an open relationship. On July 6, 2024, Prince tweeted about Seira’s return to Japan after studying abroad for six months. The surprise came when he announced that Seira would be returning with her new boyfriend, who would stay with them.
He shared their living arrangement on social media, posting photos and videos of Seira’s boyfriend in their home. Prince explained that Seira had told him in 2023 about her wish to study in Australia, and though surprised, he supported her choice. She left Japan in January 2024 and by May, had started a relationship with a Japanese man she met in Australia. Because of their open relationship, Prince was not surprised by this and had already talked to the boyfriend through text messages. He even gave him a coffee shop coupon for his birthday.
On July 12, Prince posted a video welcoming Seira and her boyfriend at the airport. In the days that followed, he continued to share their unique living arrangement, where Seira’s boyfriend also stayed with them. Prince and Seira shared a room while the boyfriend slept on the sofa. There were moments of Prince and the boyfriend talking and scenes showing either Prince or the boyfriend with Seira. Seira and her boyfriend also cooked together, and in one video, Prince helped them resolve an argument.
Prince’s way of handling this situation has received mixed reactions. According to PEP.ph, some online users admire his modern attitude and respect for their open relationship, while others find it hard to understand. Prince clarified that he doesn’t see Seira’s actions as wrong and appreciates her independence and happiness. He even feels for her boyfriends, knowing they cannot replace him in Seira’s heart.
