Boss Toyo Reacts to Those Questioning His Presence at PBBM’s 3rd SONA
BOSS TOYO – The businessman and social media personality defended himself against critics questioning his attendance at the third State of the Nation Address (SONA) by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at Batasang Pambansa on Monday.
Some netizens couldn’t help but wonder why he was present at the SONA, which was attended by politicians, foreign dignitaries, and other guests. He asserted that people “of lower social status” like him are not prohibited from attending such gatherings. In his attendance at SONA 2024, Boss Toyo, whose real name is Jayson Luzadas, wore an embroidered Barong Tagalog designed by an unnamed Filipino designer.
“Nagtataka ako bakit me mga taong nagkikuwestiyon bakit ako nasa SONA. Bakit bawal po ba ang isang content creator dito? Bawal po ba ang isang tulad ko dito? Bawal ba dahil hindi ako politiko? Bawal ba dahil ‘di mataas ang antas ko sa lipunan?” Boss Toyo said on Facebook.
“Masyado kayong nanghahamak ng tao. Gusto ko marinig kung ano ang sasabihin dahil isa akong Pilipino at me paki ako sa bayan ko. Wala ako nakikitang masama kung andito ako or kahit sinong tao andito. Pilipino ako at me paki ako sa bayan ko,” he added.
Boss Toyo, whose real name is Jayson Luzadas, is a prominent figure on the Filipino reality TV show “Pinoy Pawn Stars.” On the show, he serves as the main buyer and negotiates deals for items brought in by sellers. His role involves assessing and determining the value of various items that people want to pawn or sell. Some of those who have sold their memorabilia on the show include Diana Zubiri, Niño Muhlach, and Jiro Manio.
Meanwhile, in his SONA, Marcos received applause when he declared a ban on the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators or POGOs. He also reaffirmed that the West Philippine Sea belongs to the Filipinos amidst China’s incursions in the region.
