BINI Member Sheena Catacutan Calls Sarah Geronimo ‘Mother’
SHEENA CATACUTAN – A member of the P-pop group BINI sparked mixed reactions from netizens after referring to Sarah Geronimo as “mother” in a tweet on July 16, 2024.
The tweet featured a video of Sarah walking with her husband, Matteo Guidicelli, and was captioned “My mother.” This led to confusion among many netizens who thought Sheena was literally calling Sarah a mother.
Some criticized Sheena, with one netizen saying she should have called Sarah “sister” because Sheena looks older than her. Another netizen accused BINI of being overly dramatic, while yet another suggested that Sheena looks older and should be the one called “mother.”
On the other hand, some fans, known as Blooms, defended Sheena. They argued that people should practice better reading comprehension, suggesting that Sheena’s use of “mother” was a term of endearment or admiration due to their resemblance, rather than a literal statement. A netizen named Algene emphasized that netizens should not overreact and should spread love instead. Algene speculated that Sheena might be a fan of Sarah G, recognizing her as a role model, and showing respect in a way that acknowledges Sarah’s status in the entertainment industry.
