Chavit Singson To Give Away P7M Through an Online Raffle to Commemorate 83rd Birthday
CHAVIT SINGSON – Former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson to give away P7 million through an online raffle in celebration of his 83rd birthday.
Chavit Singson is a well-known figure in Philippine politics, business, and media, renowned for his influential role in the province of Ilocos Sur. He has held multiple terms as governor starting from 1972, overseeing significant development projects and political reforms.
Additionally, Singson served as a congressman representing the 1st District of Ilocos Sur and briefly as Deputy National Security Adviser under President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Chavit Singson gained national attention for his controversial involvement in the removal of President Joseph Estrada in 2001, where he played a pivotal role as a whistleblower in the jueteng scandal, which had far-reaching implications in Philippine politics.
Beyond his political endeavors, Singson is a successful entrepreneur with investments spanning industries such as tobacco, transportation, media, and agriculture. He has interests in media companies and has engaged in various media-related ventures.

In celebration of his upcoming birthday on June 21, Singson is giving away a total of P7 million through a raffle. He announced that 600 individuals will have the opportunity to win P10,000 each, with one fortunate winner receiving P1 million. Singson emphasized that participants must use his e-wallet app, e-Gracia, for registration, ensuring convenience and security for all participants.
Reflecting on his wealth, Singson remarked, “This year, magpapa-raffle ako ng P7 million. Papakita ko sa screen, naka-live. P6 million na tig-P10,000, plus ‘yung isang P1 million, so P7 million lahat.”
He highlighted the importance of sharing his wealth while also managing it prudently, stating, “Lagi kong sinasabi na ‘money is not yours until you spend it.’ ‘Pag namatay ako, pag-aawayan pa.”
