Veteran comedian and television host Joey de Leon denied targeting the Kapamilya noontime program, It’s Showtime.
In a video, he clarified that he and his co-hosts on Eat Bulaga are not aiming at their rival show, which has been airing for several years already.

JOEY DE LEON – The veteran TV host-comedian clarified his recent remarks about “luluhuran” (submitting to) a program once it reaches 15 years, emphasizing that they were not referring to their rival show “It’s Showtime.” His statement came after speculations arose regarding the future of Eat Bulaga!, following Tito Sotto’s announcement addressing rumors of its closure during a recent episode.
De Leon expressed that they harbor no ill will towards It’s Showtime, as they consider them allies rather than adversaries. Their frustration was aimed at certain individuals on social media who spread false rumors about Eat Bulaga!’s alleged closure.
In a video shared on social media, De Leon reiterated their respect for It’s Showtime, acknowledging their long-standing relationship and peaceful coexistence. He emphasized that their anger was directed towards those spreading misinformation on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.
“Hi good morning, Joey de Leon po. Ito’y para lang matapos yung mga usap-usapan. Ahhh, unang-una, hindi, hindi ha? Hindi namin kaaway yung Showtime. Yung Showtime, matagal na naming kapitbahay yan. Hindi kami tinitira, hindi rin namin sila tinitira,” he said.
He added: “Ang pinapatungkulan namin ni Tito nung nagalit kami sa Eat Bulaga! ay yung mga social media na nagpo-post… yung mga alam niyo na nagpoprograma. Kaya hinamon ko, 15 years, kung tatagal yung mga nagpo-post na yun. Hindi Showtime.”
