Enchong Dee shared this regarding his business amid the pandemic
Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee shared that this is what he did to his employees in his business amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Enchong is one of the celebrities in the Philippine who ventured into business outside the entertainment industry. Based on the article from PEP, he co-owns branches of Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken with branches at SM Megamall, U.P. Town Center, Market! Market!, and Marquee Mall.
However, due to the health crisis, just like other food businesses, Enchong’s business was greatly affected also. “We stopped because our customers and our employees are our main concern. We followed the guidelines provided by our mall operators,” he shared.
He added that their sales took a plunge but it was enough for them to survive. Despite the crisis, the actor said that he did not fire anyone from his employees.
“I care for them not because they work for me, but because it is my mission as a businessman to provide opportunities for Filipinos. And that doesn’t stop just because of a pandemic. They have families, they have needs, just like me,” he said.
Enchong also said that his business partners proposed that they are the ones who should sacrifice their salaries for their employees and this received a big yes from him.
In order to cope up with the cost-cutting setup, they organized a skeletal workforce with alternating shifts. “Everyone will have a chance to go to work. We are down to less than eight staff in every branch from the usual count, which is more or less 30,” he said.
The actor also noted that their staff and crew go through rapid testing. Enchong Dee hopes that their business will bounce back after the pandemic.
