Here’s the latest update about Pura Luka Vega
PURA LUKA VEGA – The controversial drag artist remains in police custody, two days after being arrested for his controversial “Ama Namin” remix performance.
Philip Ines. The police are still waiting for a commitment order from the court. “Pag lumabas po ‘yan, dadalhin naman po natin siya sa Manila City Jail kung hindi po siya agad makakapag-post ng bail,” Ines explained during an interview with TeleRadyo Serbisyo.
A recommended bail of P72,000 has been set for Pura Luka Vega to secure his temporary release, and the police have emphasized that while in their custody, he will not receive VIP treatment.
Earlier, the group Hijos del Nazareno filed complaints of immoral doctrines, obscene publications, and exhibition and indecent shows against Pura Luka Vega, whose real name is Amadeus Fernando Pagante. He has previously asserted that he has not received any notice from the Manila Prosecutors Office regarding the complaints against him.
Meanwhile, drag artist Manila Luzon called for donations for Pura Luka Vega’s bail. He emphasized that drag should not be considered a crime and used the hashtag #FreePuraLukaVega to rally support. Manila also provided donation QR codes and account numbers to collect funds for Pura’s bail.
