Ariel Villasanta reacts to persona non grata of Pura Luka Vega
ARIEL VILLASANTA – The comedian recently went to social media wherein he reacted to the statement of Pura Luka Vega in which the drag artist responded to the persona non grata declarations issued against him.
Pura Luka Vega, whose real name is Amadeus Fernando Pagente, was heavily criticized due to a video of him dancing to the Filipino Lord’s Prayer “Ama Namin” remix version while portraying Jesus Christ.
As a result, several local government units (LGUs) have formally declared him as “Persona Non-Grata” including Manila City, Laguna, Cagayan de Oro City, Floridablanca, Nueva Ecija, San Pablo City, Toboso, General Santos City, and Bukidnon.
Eventually, drag artist Pura Luka Vega issued a statement in response to the persona non grata declaration issued against him. “Tell me EXACTLY what I did wrong. I’m open to a dialogue, yet cities have been declaring persona non grata without even knowing me or understanding the intent of the performance. Drag is art. You judge me, yet you don’t even know me,” he noted.
Among those who reacted to his statement was none other than Ariel Villasanta, who became popular with his tandem with Maverick Relova. Recently, he took to the social networking site, Facebook wherein he posted an art card in which he reacted to the statement of Pura Luka Vega.
“People don’t have to know you to judge you. You are judged by your actions. A judge does not have to know a criminal to make a judgment. Art is not an excuse for a disrespectful act. Try mong e-mock si Allah, malamang alla ka na din sa mundo,” he noted. “E-mock mo na din si Satanas para persona non grata ka sa impierno! De ligtas ka diba!” he added.
