Rendon Labador throws shade at Lea Salonga
RENDON LABADOR – The motivational speaker took to social media to throw shade at Broadway singer Lea Salonga.
On his Instagram Stories, he posted a screenshot from an article about a lawyer’s open letter to the singer, reminding her to be more careful with the words she utters on social media. It was just recently when Atty. Arnedo Valera of Valera and Associates took to social media to pen a letter to the critically acclaimed singer.
In his post, the lawyer shared a statement made by Salonga in 2019, in which she said that people should stop using their phones at concerts and theater performances. Earlier today, Rendon Labador reacted to the said post. “Kung kailan nalaos tska nag attitude,” he noted.
This is not the first time Rendon Labador has targeted Lea Salonga with his criticism. To recall, during the height of her issue of declining some fans’ requests to take a backstage photo with her, Rendon was among those who reacted.
Just last month, the singer made headlines after declining some fans’ requests to take a backstage photo with her. The video, shared by Facebook user Cristopher Retokelly Carpila, captured fans waiting outside Salonga’s dressing room after a Broadway performance of “Here Lies Love.”
In the video, Salonga politely explained to the fans that she couldn’t allow them into her dressing room if they weren’t on the guest list due to security concerns. She elaborated that granting their request could open the door for others to take advantage of the situation.
Carpila expressed his disappointment with the incident on Facebook, hoping that as fellow Filipinos and fans, they would be given at least a little respect and allowed to take a picture, even if it meant not being able to hug or beso Salonga. The Facebook clip has garnered millions of views and generated mixed reactions among netizens. Lea has already made a clarification regarding the video.
