Rita Daniela: “‘Yung nangyari sa’min ni Ken, it’s an almost love story kasi …”
RITA DANIELA – The actress-singer recently spoke about her “almost love story” with her on-screen partner, actor Ken Chan.
Ken Chan and Rita Daniela starred on several Kapuso shows together – including “My Special Tatay”, “Ang Dalawang Ikaw”, and “One of the Baes”. Aside from this, the two also worked together in “All-Out Sundays” and as journey hosts in “The Clash”.
The actress-singer appeared on Thursday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” where she opened up about her “almost love story” with her on-screen partner.
Ken guested in “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” last February 2023 where the actor admitted that he hurt Rita. On Thursday, the actress-singer was asked in an interview with Boy Abunda about her version of the story.
“Siguro, masasabi ko na lang, ‘yung nangyari sa’min ni Ken, it’s an almost love story. Almost. Kasi ang almost, ‘yun ‘yung masakit, di ba? It’s like so close but yet so far,” she told the King of Talk.

According to her, she was in denial at first that she could fall in love with her on-screen partner because, for her, it was all just for work.
Rita shared that she and Ken stopped talking for a long time, but she reassured that things are all better now. The actress-singer also said that she had to give time for herself because she “lost a bestfriend and a family in one” because of what happened to her and Ken.
When asked how she would introduce “Tito Ken” to her son, Uno, she said that she will tell her son that “Tito Ken” was her bestfriend and she’s among those people who fell in love with their bestfriend.
“Sana anak kung isang araw mangyari sa ‘yo ‘to, sana nandun si nanay para suportahan ka,” Rita said.
