Stand-up comedian Kim Idol saddened many including his friends and supporters following his death earlier due to AVM at the age of 41.
It was on Thursday, July 9, when he was rushed to a hospital after being found unconscious in the Philippine Arena-which was temporarily turned into a quarantine facility for COVID-19 patients.
He was on duty as marshal of the Bureau of Quarantine at the Philippine Arena when he had AVM or brain arteriovenous malformation.
Kim Idol has not regained consciousness since he was taken to the hospital so his family and friends asked for prayers and earlier, he passed away.
But who is Kim Idol?
Kim Idol or Michael Argente in real life is a native of Sta Ana, Manila. He’s the second of three children of certain Nestor Eusebio Argente and Maria Carranza Taniegra.
He rose to fame in the country when he became one of the hosts of the GMA-7 noontime show, Eat Bulaga.
Aside from being a host, he is popular in the field of comedy. In fact, he used to write materials for some of the Filipino comedians such as Pokwang and Pooh via the shows; Poohkwang, Da Spooftacular Showdown, and My Poohlish Heart.
He’s also a comedy bar performer. He was even awarded with the “Entertainer of the Year 2004” by the Golden Book Awardee of The Library, the only Sing-Along bar that honors Sing-Along Masters in the Philippines.
All throughout his career as an artist, he almost toured the world.
In 2005, he flew to Europe accompanied by the only Concert Queen of the Philippines Pops Fernandez to perform in Vienna Austria, Milan Italy, Copenhagen Denmark, Stockholm Sweden, and Munich Germany.
He flew to the Middle East and some Asian countries as well as Australia (Melbourne and Sydney) wherein he performed.
He also had shows alongside Sarah Geronimo and Mark Bautista.
