DOH reported over 900 new cases of coronavirus disease in just one day.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday reported over 900 new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in just one day.
This, as the Department of Health reported 943 new COVID-19 cases wherein 578 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 365 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 29,400 as of 7:00 p.m. of June 20, 2020.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 272 additional recoveries and 20 new fatalities due to COVID-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 7,650 and total fatalities to 1,150.
For “fresh” cases, 218 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 296 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 64 came from different areas in the Philippines. On the other hand, for the “late” cases, 60 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 147 were from Central Visayas, and the remaining 158 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Saturday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.
Moreover, the Department of Health also reported 19,951 total active cases as of June 19, 2020, wherein 479 patients were asymptomatic, 19,390 patients were in mild condition, 63 patients were in severe condition, and 19 patients were in critical condition.
