Sunshine Cruz: “I chose to be quiet because merong mga bata na involved”
SUNSHINE CRUZ – The actress recently spoke about her breakup with her non-showbiz partner Macky Mathay.
Sunshine appeared on Thursday’s episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda”.
On Thursday, Sunshine told Boy Abunda in an interview that she didn’t talk about their breakup despite their public relationship since there were kids involved. According to the actress, she chose to be quiet because the public didn’t know what they were going through or what she has been through.
“I chose to be quiet because merong mga bata na involved—mga anak niya na napamahal sa akin at ‘yung mga anak ko na napamahal kay Macky,” Sunshine said.
The actress didn’t go into details about their separation, but she shared that trust was gone in her relationship with both Macky Mathay and Cesar Montano.
She went on to share that there are three important things in a relationship — love, trust, and respect. According to her, a relationship is not going to work if one of those important things is missing.
Sunshine also said she realized that there comes a point where one will feel that a relationship has ended.

When asked if there was a third party involved in her breakup with Macky Mathay, the actress said that she’s not in a position to talk about it.
The actress shared that she’s currently focusing on the good things in her life – including her work and family.
“I’m sure merong ibang plano si God para sa ‘kin and kung ano man ‘yon, hihintayin ko. Kung merong dumating, okay lang. Ang importante, nandiyan ang mga anak ko. Mahal ako ng mga anak ko,” Sunshine said. “I have work. ‘Di ako nawawalan ng proyekto and that’s all that matters. I’m blessed.“
