In a video posted by MMDA Task Force Special Operations and Anti-Colorum Unit head Bong Nebrija, he can be heard having a confrontation with the owner of a DIY motorcycle car wash in Dagupan Street, Barangay 51, Zone 2. They were trying to demolish it on Tuesday morning.

A certain Rommel Bravo, who’s the chairman of the said barangay, introduced himself as the owner of the car wash. The latter told Nebrija and his group that he will be the one who’s going to demolish the car wash. After the confrontation, the personnel of MMDA left.

But before the confrontation, the barangay chairman allegedly punched an MMDA personnel. However, it was not immediately reported to Nebrija. The said personnel identified as Mark Anthony Medios went to the Manila Police District to file a complaint against the barangay captain.

The chairman was later on summoned to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) after the incident. The chairman also went to the police but he stressed that did not hurt the MMDA personnel and only pushed him away.

The chief of the barangay is facing direct assault and is scheduled for inquest today, January 25. Authorities are still trying to find out if the water used in the car wash is connected from the barangay and if it is a personal business of the chairman.

MMDA has yet to issue any statement regarding the incident.
