Kim Chiu: “Tulalang nagkakape… I want to say more but…”
Kapamilya star Kim Chiu has reacted to the controversial conviction of Rappler CEO Maria Ressa who was found guilty of a cyber libel case.
On Monday, June 15, the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 46 convicted Maria Ressa and former Rappler reporter Reynaldo Santos Jr. for cyber libel filed by businessman Wilfredo Keng.
Maria Ressa and Santos’s conviction drawn mixed reactions from the netizens including renowned personalities and celebrities.
Among who reacted on the court’s verdict of Maria Ressa’s case is actress Kim Chiu, who became popular recently over her viral “Bawal Lumabas.”

Earlier, Kim Chiu took the image-sharing site, Instagram wherein she shared on her IG story a photo of Ressa while giving a speech on TV.
The photo was accompanied by a short note saying: “Tulalang nagkakape… I want to say more but…” (with emojis).
However, Kim Chiu refused to give more about the pressing conviction of Ressa.
Kim Chiu was heavily criticized on social media following her “Bawal Lumabas” reaction amidst the abrupt shutdown of ABS-CBN last May 5.
According to Philnews.ph, the cyber libel case filed by Wilfredo Keng was in relation to the article published by the online news site in 2012 and was republished in 2014 with the title “CJ using SUVs of controversial businessman.”
On February 14, 2019, Maria Ressa was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for the alleged libelous article against the businessman.
After more than a year, the Manila RTC hands down a guilty verdict against Maria Ressa and Reynaldo Santos Jr.
