Due to illegal drugs, a female student from Pangasinan was arrested
ILLEGAL DRUGS – A 21-year-old female student was arrested by the authorities in an anti-illegal drug operation on Wednesday, January 18, at Brgy. Tempra-Guilig in San Fabian, Pangasinan.
The suspect identified as Noraida Darang, a resident of Brgy. Sagud Bahley, San Fabian was arrested through the effort of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) region 1 and San Fabian police.
The female student was nabbed when she handed over a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline granules which were suspected “shabu.”
Authorities were able to retrieve the mark money from the suspect. The evidence and the suspect were brought to the San Fabian police station.
Meanwhile, according to the law, anyone found guilty of the importation, sale, manufacturing of illegal drugs or operation of a drug den faces a penalty of life imprisonment as well as a fine ranging P500k and P10 million.
Anyone found guilty of importing or selling drug precursors, protecting other violators, or working as an employee in a drug den, on the other hand, faces 12 years and a day to 20 years in prison and a fine ranging from P100,000 to P500,000.
If the sale or delivery occurred within 100 meters of a school, if a minor was directly involved in the process of handling dangerous drugs, or if the victim of the offense is mentally incapacitated, the maximum penalty is imposed.
