Here’s the reaction of Aiko Melendez to snobbish celebrities
AIKO MELENDEZ – The actress-politician took to the social networking site, Facebook wherein she gave a reaction to snobbish celebrities.
Aiko Melendez started as a child star in the early ’80s under Regal Films. The same movie outfit launched her together with Ruffa Gutierrez and Carmina Villaroel as teen actresses.
She also ventured into politics. In 2001, Melendez ran for councilor of the 2nd district of Quezon City and won. She was reelected in 2004 and in 2007 and remained in office for 9 years until 2010. She ran for vice mayor of Quezon City in 2010 as the running mate of Mike Defensor but lost to Joy Belmonte.
After her hiatus in politics, she returned to acting. Then, Melendez ran for Quezon City councilor in 2022, this time in the 5th district, and won.
Recently, she went to Facebook wherein she gave her two cents about snobbish celebrities. “My take and View sa pagiging snob ng mga artista. Ako kasi kapag me bumabati sa akin o magpapapicture kahit gaano na ako kapagod pinagbibigyan ko,” she said.
“Ang rason ko lagi hindi naman naten alam kung first and last encounter mo na du’n sa taong ‘yun eh so ‘yung mga simpleng gestures like saying HI! Or pagbigyan ng picture taking ok lang yan,” she added.
In the last part of her post, she reminded the public that “fame is all temporary but right attitude lasts a lifetime.” Previously, a group of volleyball players made a buzz online for allegedly snubbing their fans.
