Traveling around the world was a goal that almost everyone aspired to achieve. However, going to a specific destination, especially abroad, necessitates a significant amount of money and requirements such as a passport or visa.

But not anymore; travel agencies can be found almost anywhere to assist those who wish to travel. It would be less stressful to go through the process with the assistance of a travel agency.

However, an employee of a travel agency in QC who was supposed to help her clients travel hassle-free was arrested for “fake booking.” One of the victims said that she booked travel and tour packages, however, it did not happen. The other victims went to the Quezon City Police District Station 9 to file a complaint against the 33-year-old suspect, who has been working in the said travel agency for two years now.

The suspect was arrested by the virtue of a warrant of arrest due to estafa in relation to Cybercrime Prevention Act issued by Tuguegarao City Regional Trial Court Branch 10.

Estafa is the legal term for swindling. It is when someone poses as someone else or says they can do things they cannot, causing the victim to suffer damages. Damages may refer to monetary, personal property, or valuables lost as a result of the deception.

“Siyempre nasasaktan ako, wala naman akong kasalanan regarding diyan, nagkaroon lang talaga ng problema,” the suspect claimed. Apparently, the suspect did not mention what was supposed to be the problem.
