Teacher shot dead in Negros Oriental
A 59-year-old public school teacher from Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental was shot dead by a riding in tandem, authorities said.
The victim was identified by the local police as Basiledes Ledon, a teacher and a resident of Barangay Poblacion.
Based on the article published by GMA News, authorities reportedly received a call from a concerned citizen around 6:20 p.m. on Friday, May 29, with regards to a shooting incident that took place in Larena Street of Barangay Poblacion.
According to the bystanders in the said location- who were able to witness the incident, the unknown suspects parked their vehicle on the other side of the road.
Then, one of the suspects approached them without any reason but obviously has the intention to kill the victim.
The slain teacher accumulated multiple gunshot wounds which resulted in his sudden death.
The suspects as described by the witnesses were wearing a jacket and a bonnet.
They said that the suspects do not wear any helmet and they are aboard a black and white-colored Yamaha Mio which they used as an escape vehicle.
Authorities were able to retrieve two cartridges of .45 pistol and a slug from the crime scene.
The victim who’s a teacher was rushed to Guihulngan District Hospital. However, he was declared by the doctor, dead on arrival.
This is not the first time that a public school teacher was shot dead in this pressing year.
Last January 6, a public high school teacher was shot dead by unknown suspects outside the Bacnotan National High School (BNHS).
The teacher was allegedly involved in illegal drugs in the province.
