Sony Interactive Entertainment has decided not to participate in this year’s E3, a video game expo in North America, for the second year in a row.
Sony Interactive Entertainment said in a statement that they didn’t feel “the vision of E3 2020 is the right venue” for their plans this year. The company added that they’re making sure that their fans may “feel part of the PlayStation family and have access to play their favorite content.”
Previously, Sony revealed the logo of PlayStation 5 at CES 2020 in Las Vegas, and they’re already preparing for its official launch. The company didn’t attend last year’s E3 just because the company was “exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community in 2019.”
The E3 2020 was organized by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). The ESA issued a statement on its website following Sony’s announcement on skipping E3 this year.
