Carmina Villaroel on past encounter with director: “Nasigawan ako kasi parang nagtanong lang naman ako”
CARMINA VILLAROEL – The Kapuso actress recalled bursting into tears after a director unjustly shouted at her.
Carmina started in the show business as a child star and became active during the late ’80s.
During the mediacon of her latest project, “Abot Kamay Na Pangarap” which airs on GMA-7, she shared some details about her beginnings in the industry.
“May panahon na napagalitan ako ng director, nasigawan. Pero that did not stop me. Kasi gusto ko talaga maging artista,” she shared.
Because she was too young at the time, her initial reaction was to burst into tears: “feeling ko, parang di makatarungan.”
Due to the incident, she almost back-out of the said project.
That incident became her motivation to prove herself as an artist. Having a positive outlook on life also helped her get through the hardships that she went through.
Four decades later, Carmina Villaroel, the wife of actor Zoren Legaspi, is still active in showbiz. Now, she’s gearing up for her role in the series, “Abot Kamay Na Pangarap.”
Among those who inspired her to become good at acting are her former colleagues, Maricel Soriano and Vilma Santos.
On the other hand, she lauded directors Ishmael Bernal and Peque Gallaga, who nurtured her to become disciplined.
She’s also thankful for working with Gloria Romero, Joey Marquez, and Richard Gomez in the defunct Kapamilya sitcom, Palibhasa Lalake.
Last but not the least, she expressed her gratitude to Johnny Manahan, or Mr. M who was also there when she started her career in showbiz.
