The family of Filipino actress Sue Prado confirmed that she passed away on April 14, 2026, due to cardiac arrest.
The information was shared by her older sister, Guia Antonette “Annie” Mera, during an urn viewing held at Loyola Memorial Chapels in Quezon City. She expressed shock over the sudden loss, saying they were not aware of any serious illness and described heart-related conditions as unpredictable and often sudden.
Sue Prado, whose full name was Marissa Sue Mera Prado, was the second of five sisters. Her passing deeply affected the family, especially their elderly mother. According to her sister, their mother had a strong emotional reaction and initially struggled to accept the news, even showing disbelief and repeatedly asking what had happened. The family carefully explained the situation and supported her through the emotional moment, knowing she needed time to process the loss.
The sisters shared that their bond became even closer after the passing of their father, especially during times when their mother was abroad. Over the years, they developed stronger family relationships, often recalling childhood memories that brought them comfort and laughter despite difficult moments. Sue was remembered as someone with a sharp memory, a caring personality, and a strong sense of responsibility within the family. She was described as both strict and organized, but also deeply loving, especially toward her nieces, nephews, and pets.
Sue lived alone in Quezon City with her cats and was later known to have supported animal welfare causes, something her family had not fully realized until recently. Despite her quiet nature, she was seen as someone who helped and supported her siblings during personal struggles and family events.
The family also shared that Sue had expressed simple wishes for her funeral, preferring a low-key arrangement and cremation without elaborate ceremonies. Her request was largely respected, and the family chose a simple and dignified urn. A memorial mass was scheduled, where family and friends were expected to gather for prayers and remembrance.
