BINI Members Under Fire for Viral Video Involving Inappropriate Remarks

BINI Members Criticized Over Viral Video

BINI – A video involving Jhoanna Robles, Colet Vergara, and Stacey Sevilleja—members of the nation’s girl group BINI—has stirred controversy online, with fans expressing disappointment and concern over what many perceived as jokes about a sensitive issue.

The video, which quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), showed Jhoanna seated on a couch while P-Pop GAT member Ethan David and dancer Shawn Castro playfully interacted in front of her. In the background, a female voice believed to be Stacey’s was heard laughing and saying, “Ganyan ginagawa niya kay Ashley…Sinasabunutan.” Another woman, whose voice resembled Colet’s, then commented, “Oo, 13 years old,” to which Jhoanna responded, “Ah, 13 years old.” Although it is unclear who “Ashley” refers to, online speculation suggests she may be a minor previously linked to Ethan.

The incident drew backlash from fans, who accused the group members of making light of serious topics like grooming and s*xual misconduct. Many pointed out that joking about a minor in such a context was deeply inappropriate and harmful.

One fan wrote, “Alam kong hindi ako kawalan pero seryoso ako pagdating sa sxual issue lalo na if may nababanggit na minor. Hindi sya biro at hindi dapat gawin biro or katatawanan.” Others echoed similar sentiments, with another user demanding accountability: “What is this behavior, Jhoanna, Stacey, Colet, Ethan and Shawn? Normalizing and making a joke about grooming and s*xual assault? Tangina nakakadiri kayo!!!”

Some fans even called for the removal of the three BINI members involved, stating they would withdraw their support if no action was taken.

In response, the official fanbase “Blooms” released a statement urging the group and their management to directly address the controversy. While expressing continued support for BINI, the fandom emphasized the importance of accountability, reflection, and responsible advocacy. They called on the group to clarify their side and use the situation as an opportunity for growth and awareness about issues that affect many people.

Blooms reaffirmed that they are not abandoning the members but hope the incident serves as a wake-up call to treat such matters with the seriousness they deserve.
