Zuri Hotel Issues Apology After Ceiling Collapse

Ceiling Collapses at Zuri Hotel Entrance

ILOILO CITY – A section of the ceiling at the entrance of Zuri Hotel in Mandurriao collapsed during a severe rainstorm on April 29, 2025. The incident, which occurred around 10:40 PM, was reportedly caused by a localized tornado marked by heavy rainfall and strong winds.

According to reports from Aksyon Radyo and Bombo Radyo Iloilo, a sudden gust of wind led to the collapse of the hotel’s entrance ceiling—an area designated for vehicles to drop off and pick up guests. Debris from the collapse struck three private vehicles and one motorcycle. A delivery rider, who was on the motorcycle, sustained injuries including a head wound and a fractured leg. He was immediately taken to Iloilo Doctor’s Hospital for treatment, with emergency responders and hotel staff administering first aid at the scene.
