Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks at Isko Moreno’s Campaign Rally
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President seemingly hinted at running for the presidency during the campaign rally of former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.
After staying for more than three (3) weeks at The Hague, Netherlands, Vice Pres. Duterte is now in the Philippines and campaigns for her senatorial bets. She also met with her lawyers regarding her looming impeachment trial.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is endorsing Senator Imee Marcos, Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar, and the PDP Laban bets. Villar is the only daughter of business tycoon Manny Villar and outgoing Sen. Cynthia Villar. She and her mother are in the pursuit of switching seats.
Sen. Imee Marcos was endorsed by Vice Pres. Duterte through the viral “ITIM” campaign ad that gathered different reactions. In the said ad, Duterte could be heard saying that black is the current color of the country due to hunger and criminality. The Senator also claimed that the country is not only hungry for food but as well as justice.
Sen. Imee Marcos left the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago endorsed by Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the administration over the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. She led the Senate Foreign Relations committee in its probe over Duterte’s arrest.
According to Marcos, the recent actions of the government on the arrest of the former President do not match her ideals and principles in life. Amid the issue on his controversial arrest, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte claimed that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte can be president because of what was done to him.
Former presidential legal counsel Salvador Panelo also made the said statement. Recently, at the campaign rally of former Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte seemingly hinted at running for president.
“Tanggalin ko lang po yung seal ng aking opisina. Palitan natin ng seal ng Office of the President,” she said based on a report on ABS-CBN News.
Based on the report, Moreno is running for the mayoralty race in Manila. He was one of the presidential candidates in the 2022 Elections but lost to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the running mate of the Vice President. Previously, Senator Imee Marcos expressed her regret in convincing Vice Pres. Duterte to run with her brother.
