Gloria Diaz Calls Out Philip Salvador Over Child Support
GLORIA DIAZ – The former Miss Universe 1969 gave a reminder to actor and senatorial candidate Philip Salvador, urging him to prioritize supporting his child before involving himself in political matters. This came after a video went viral showing Philip expressing support for former President Rodrigo Duterte and calling for his release from the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
In a comment on the Instagram video, Gloria directly told Philip, “Yung anak mo padalan mo ng pera,” encouraging him to provide financial support to his child instead of focusing on public issues.
Philip Salvador is the father of Josh, the son of television personality Kris Aquino. Several months ago, Kris shared that Philip had used Josh to gain public sympathy, especially during his political campaigns.
Entertainment writer Ogie Diaz also commented on the matter, stating that Philip had confided to some friends that he misses his son, whom he has not seen in nearly ten years. However, Ogie noted that Kris has raised her children entirely on her own.
Despite their past, Kris has publicly expressed gratitude toward Philip. In a previous interview, she said she appreciated that he never interfered in how she raised Josh. “No issues whatsoever kay Phillip Salvador, kasi hindi naman niya kami ginulo,” she said. “Wala siyang masamang sinabi tungkol sa akin. Publicly, pinuri niya ang pamilya ko, ang mom ko, ako, mga kapatid ko sa pagpapalaking nagawa namin kay Josh. So, sa kaniya, grateful ako.”
As of this writing, Philip has yet to respond to Gloria’s remarks.

Beginning his career in 1971, he has received multiple awards, including FAMAS Best Actor. He is part of the prominent Salvador showbiz family and is the father of Kris Aquino’s son, Joshua.
