Officials of Department of Agriculture Defends NFA Rice amid Criticisms
DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE – The officials of DA ate the NFA rice sold at P20 per kilo to assure the public of its quality amid the questions and criticisms.
Countless Filipinos undeniably hope for affordable rice as rice is a staple food in the Philippines. However, the recent announcement of the DA was met not only by praises but as well as criticisms. The department announced that rice will be sold at P20 per kilo in Visayas. It was a campaign promise of Pres. Bongbong Marcos.

Vice President Sara Duterte claimed that the sale of rice for P20 per kilo is allegedly the government’s way of fooling the Filipinos again. She expressed her doubts on why it is only available in Visayas and not in Luzon and Mindanao where an affordable rice is also a need.

The Vice President also claimed that there was allegedly a meeting of some governors in Cebu capitol. According to her, there might be a problem with regards to the votes in Visayas. She also claimed that the fulfillment of the campaign promise of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is allegedly late.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also questioned the quality of the rice that will be sold for P20 per kilo. Duterte stressed that it should be fit for human consumption as the rice that is allegedly sold at that price is for pigs. The Department of Agriculture was “deeply hurt” by the remarks of the Vice President.

The Department of Agriculture vouched for the safety and quality of the NFA rice. According to DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr., they in the department also cook and eat NFA rice everyday. He stressed the department’s commitment to delivering quality rice to the Filipino people.
Recently, the officials of the Department of Agriculture ate NFA rice that will be sold at P20 per kilo amid the questions and criticisms. Based on a post of ABS-CBN News on Facebook, several officials of DA ate NFA rice as they vouch for its quality.

Previously, the Palace also reacted to the Vice President’s criticisms of the NFA rice. Malacañang called on Vice Pres. Sara Duterte not to exhibit crab mentality over the P20 per kilo rice sale in Visayas.
