Claudine Barretto Cries After Being Blocked from Niece’s Wedding
CLAUDINE BARRETTO – The actress opened up about her heartbreak after not being invited to the wedding of her niece, Claudia Barretto. According to actor Dennis Padilla, Claudine was deeply hurt and nearly fainted from emotional distress after realizing she would not be able to attend the special event.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Dennis shared that Claudine personally reached out to him, asking for help in delivering her wedding gifts to Claudia. She explained that she couldn’t attend the wedding because her sister, Marjorie Barretto, had allegedly blocked her on Viber after she sent several messages asking if she could come. Claudine reportedly tried to send a third message, but it was deleted, and she was blocked afterward—leaving her in tears.
Dennis, aware of how close Claudine is to Claudia—whom she treats like her own daughter—encouraged her to attend the wedding even without an invitation. He assured her that he would stay by her side if she chose to go. However, Claudine had already made up her mind and did not want to show up uninvited.
Dennis emphasized that despite the family issues, Claudine remains a close relative and should have been welcomed. “Nakikiusap nga siyang ma-invite e. Kaya nga sinabi ko sa kanya na kahit hindi ka invited pumunta ka, tatabihan kita. Kasi kung dumating naman siya alangang itaboy mo? E si Claudine Barretto ‘yon. Tsaka tiyahin yon, kamag-anak ‘yon, kadugo ‘yo? That’s Claudine Barretto,” he said.
It was also mentioned that Gretchen Barretto, another sister of Marjorie, was not invited either. This situation once again highlights the ongoing tensions within the Barretto family, especially during important family occasions. Despite the pain, Claudine chose to express her love for Claudia by sending a gift and respectfully staying away, showing her support from afar.
