Whamos Cruz Faces Backlash Over Salary Offer for Videographer Editor
WHAMOS CRUZ – The social media personality faced criticism after posting a job opening for a videographer/editor for his YouTube channel.
Through his Facebook account, Whamos announced that he was looking for a videographer and editor, offering a salary range of ₱20,000 to ₱30,000 per month. He mentioned that applicants should ideally have a passport to join him on international trips. Additionally, he assured us that accommodation and food would be provided for free.
Many people showed interest in the job, saying they would apply since it offered work and the opportunity to travel abroad. However, others criticized Whamos for being “barat” with his salary offer. They argued that his offer was unfairly low since he earns millions from YouTube.
Aware of the backlash, Whamos responded with another Facebook post, seemingly mocking the high salary expectations of some critics. He sarcastically wrote that he should have offered ₱500,000 to ₱1 million per day, plus free house construction and full family meals, to satisfy people’s expectations. He reiterated that he was looking for someone skilled and easy to work with, not necessarily a “professional” with high-end equipment, since he already had his own cameras and lighting gear.
Whamos also addressed editors who immediately criticized his offer, saying they insulted him without even giving him a chance. He emphasized that he treats his editors like family, not just as employees. Concluding his post, he expressed disappointment at the negativity but wished everyone well.

He gained popularity for his comedic content, dance videos, and pranks. Whamos is also recognized for his distinctive appearance and lively personality.
