Ruffa Gutierrez Reveals Ex-Husband Yilmaz Bektas Proposes Again
RUFFA GUTIERREZ – Beauty queen and actress Ruffa Gutierrez recently revealed that her ex-husband, Yilmaz Bektas, surprised her with a marriage proposal.
Actress Ruffa Gutierrez recently shared that her ex-husband, Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas, proposed to her again. In a report by Pilipino Star Ngayon, Ruffa admitted that she initially thought it was a joke.
“Sabi ko, ‘Is this a joke?’” Ruffa recalled. “Sabi niya, ‘No, I want to invite you to be in a train with me’ and mag-train daw kami all over Europe. So, sabi ko, ‘Totoo ba ‘to or baka he’s planning my murder on the plane or train?’”
Despite the surprising proposal, Ruffa ultimately turned it down. Yilmaz, however, reassured her that he would visit her in the Philippines instead.
“Sabi ko, ‘Okay, you’re welcome to visit in the Philippines,’” Ruffa said.
Ruffa also opened up about the improved relationship between Yilmaz and their daughters, Lorin and Venice. After reconnecting with their father during a visit to Turkey, her daughters have developed a more personal bond with him.
“And I’m very happy na they are more at ease, you know, parang ‘yung pain na nakita ko nasa heart nila for how many years, nawala,” Ruffa shared.
According to the report, the actress expressed her relief and happiness, noting that her daughters’ newfound connection with their father has brought peace to their family dynamic.
“I’m just so happy for my daughters because they now have a personal relationship with their dad. Kami rin ni Yilmaz okay din kami, minsan nagbibiruan kami. Nagpapadala rin siya ng ano (pera), you know, so happy kaming lahat. Oo, regular ang communication,” Ruffa added.
Ruffa and Yilmaz were married in 2003 but separated in 2007. Their relationship was marred by controversy and publicized disagreements, but it seems the two have since found a way to maintain a cordial relationship for the sake of their children.
Fans were quick to express their support for Ruffa and her daughters, noting the positive changes in their family life. While Ruffa has no plans of rekindling their romance, she remains grateful for the renewed connection between Yilmaz and their children.
