FPRRD’s Common-Law Partner Honeylet Avanceña to Face Complaint from Police Officer
A police officer is set to file a case against Honeylet Avanceña, the common-law partner of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Recently, the Philippine National Police (PNP) has announced plans to file a direct assault complaint against Honeylet Avanceña, the common-law partner of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
This comes after an incident where she allegedly struck a police officer on the head with a cellphone during the ICC’s arrest of the former president.

According to PNP Spokesperson PBGen. Jean Fajardo, the police officer sustained a large lump on her forehead due to the incident. She has since been discharged from the hospital but remains under medical observation.
“The police that was hurt and had an injury on the head will file a case,” Fajardo said.
The altercation happened on March 11, 2025 at Villamor Air Base when officers attempted to clear the area to facilitate Duterte’s arrest. Avanceña allegedly resisted and struck the officer during the commotion.

“We have videos proving that Miss Honeylet hit one of our female police officers tasked to restrain Ma’am Honeylet and their daughter to get them to step aside for a moment or give way. She hit our police on the head and it swelled up. The officer was brought to the hospital,” Fajardo explained.
“No one was hurt on their side, for the record. No one was hurt, no one filed a complaint that they were hurt,” she added.

Authorities arrested Duterte on Tuesday following an Interpol notice linked to the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) warrant for alleged crimes against humanity. He was immediately flown to the Netherlands.
