Handler of Sofronio Vasquez Denies Relationship Rumors
SOFRONIO VASQUEZ – The handler of The Voice USA Season 26 winner denied rumors that they are in a relationship.
Sofronio Parojinog Vasquez III is a Filipino singer based in the United States. He gained international recognition as the winner of Season 26 of The Voice USA, making history as the first Filipino and the first male Asian to win the competition.
He comes from a politically known family. Before pursuing music full-time, he studied dentistry and worked as a dental hygienist and assistant. His father’s passing in 2018 inspired him to focus on singing, leading him to perform on Carnival Cruise Line and join various competitions.
Before his The Voice victory, Vasquez was a finalist in Tawag ng Tanghalan Season 2 (2017) and placed third in its All-Star Grand Resbak (2019) spin-off. After winning The Voice in December 2024, he received $100,000 and a recording contract with Universal Music Group. Upon returning to the Philippines in January 2025, he was honored at Malacañang Palace and held his first solo concert in Cebu during the Sinulog Festival. The Philippine Senate also recognized his achievement through a resolution.
Recently, Sofronio went viral after photos of him with another man, whose face was covered with an emoji, surfaced online. In the post, a netizen speculated about the singer’s possible boyfriend. Eventually, Gio Dexter Santos, the man whose face was covered, spoke up after being labeled as Sofronio’s boyfriend.
According to him, he is the handler of The Voice USA winner, and they are not in a relationship. His statement put an end to the rumors. As of press time, Sofronio has yet to issue a statement regarding the speculation about his relationship status.
