Mark Herras Opens Up About Performing at a Gay Bar

Mark Herras Defends His Gay Bar Performance

MARK HERRAS – The actor has no regrets about his performance at a gay bar, speaking positively about the experience during an interview on Toni Talks, a YouTube talk show hosted by Toni Gonzaga. The 38-year-old actor emphasized that his performance was simply part of his job, despite facing criticism from those who didn’t understand his reasoning.

Mark shared that his life had been relatively calm, with the only recent issue being his unexpected performance at the gay bar. He explained that he was invited by colleagues working gigs and given the chance to dance at Apollo, a popular gay bar. After asking about the event, he learned it was a venue for performances featuring drag queens and former TV dancers. Mark clarified that he performed hip-hop, just like he would at any other fiesta gig, and did not do any suggestive dancing.

Surprised by the public’s negative reaction, Mark found it frustrating that some mocked his career choice, claiming he performed at the gay bar because his career was over. However, he stated that he no longer cared about such criticism. He appreciated the support from those who defended him and also pointed out how Filipinos often judge others, thinking they have the right to do so.

Mark also talked about his wife, Nicole Donesa, saying they often discuss the public’s reactions. He advised her not to read negative comments and mentioned how they talk about their situation together. Mark expressed satisfaction with his career, stating that he had never neglected his work as an actor. Although offers have become less frequent, he remains open to any opportunity that comes his way, including the one at Apollo, as he sees every job as a chance to work and support his family.
