On Valentine’s Day, Diwata Received ‘Funeral-Like’ Flowers

DIWATA – The social media personality and entrepreneur, whose real name is Deo Balbuena, became a trending topic after receiving a bouquet of flowers on Friday, February 14, for Valentine’s Day.

Diwata excitedly welcomed the flowers, which were sent from Dangwa, a well-known flower market. However, he couldn’t help but laugh at their design, which resembled floral arrangements typically seen at funerals. Adding to the surprise, the sender also included a red chick along with the bouquet.

He shared the moment on Facebook, saying, “Na surprise naman ako, May nagpadala ng bulaklak. Happy Valentines mga ka Vendors!” aniya sa caption ng kaniyang Facebook post, na tumutukoy sa ineendorso niyang party-list para sa National and Local Elections (NLE) sa Mayo.”

The post quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from netizens. Some found the gesture amusing, while others criticized it, saying the flowers were inappropriate as a Valentine’s gift. Comments ranged from humor to concern, with some questioning the sender’s intentions and a few speculating that Diwata might have staged the surprise himself.

Despite the online buzz, Diwata has not responded to accusations suggesting he may have purchased the flowers himself to create a viral moment.
