Rosmar Tan Sends Help to Sampaguita Vendor
ROSMAR TAN – The social media influencer took to Facebook to share that she had reached out to Jenny, the Sampaguita vendor who was shooed away by a security guard.
Tan shared that she had contacted Jenny, the Sampaguita vendor from the viral video, to offer her assistance. She expressed gratitude for having spoken with Jenny and encouraged others to support her. Rosmar emphasized that hardworking individuals like Jenny, who aspires to become a MedTech professional, should not be treated unfairly. While acknowledging that selling in a restricted area was against the rules, she also pointed out that the guard’s aggressive actions were inappropriate.
Rosmar revealed that Jenny, a first-year MedTech student, owns only one uniform and uses her senior high uniform while the other is being washed. After a video call, Rosmar confirmed Jenny’s commitment to her studies. Jenny felt embarrassed due to mistaken identity online, but Rosmar assured her that she would help clear her name.
To further support Jenny, Rosmar gave her ₱10,000 so she wouldn’t need to sell Sampaguita anymore. She suggested that Jenny could sell grilled food or Rosmar Skincare products near her home. Rosmar encouraged Jenny to focus on her education, assuring her that her studies would lead to a better future.
Meanwhile, a viral video of a Sampaguita vendor and a security guard has been spreading online. In the video, a young female student is seen selling Sampaguita garlands outside a mall when she is confronted aggressively by a security guard. Holding the garlands and a box, the guard appears to be attempting to remove her from the area, possibly due to the mall’s ban on street vending.
The situation escalated when the guard forcibly grabbed the garlands from the girl, damaging them in the process. In response, the girl angrily struck the guard with the remaining garlands. At one point, the guard appeared to kick the girl, which sparked widespread outrage from viewers.
