Richie D’Horsie’s Son Disgusted at Darryl Yap; Plans to Sue Director of Pepsi Paloma Movie

Richie D’Horsie’s Son Plans Legal Action Against Darryl Yap

ALEXIS JOHN ROMERO – A man claiming to be the son of the late comedian Richie D’Horsie expressed his disappointment with Darryl Yap, the director of the upcoming movie about Pepsi Paloma.

Richie D’Horsie, whose real name was Ricardo Vista Reyes, was a Filipino actor and comedian. He rose to fame as a sidekick to the comedic trio Tito, Vic, and Joey and gained prominence through his roles in television shows like Discorama, Iskul Bukol, and Eat Bulaga!.

He was also involved in the controversial Pepsi Paloma gang rape case in 1982, alongside Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon. Despite public apologies, the case drew significant media attention and controversy.

Richie D’Horsie continued his career in entertainment until his death on April 17, 2015, at the age of 58, due to complications from diabetes, kidney failure, and a brain stroke. He was laid to rest in Loyola Memorial Park, Marikina.

Richie D’Horsie is part of Darryl Yap’s upcoming movie about Pepsi Paloma. His character will be portrayed by theater actor Andres Balano Jr. In a Facebook post, Alexis John Romero, claiming to be the late actor’s son, expressed deep disappointment after learning that filmmaker Darryl Yap planned to make a movie about his late father without the family’s consent. “T— ina mo Darryl Yap Patay na tatay ko nanahimik na ano Yan gagawan mo ng pilikula tatay ko wla kang permisyo saming pamilya ah king Ina nmn tigilan nyo tatay ko,” Alexis wrote, clearly upset.

He then shared a photo from the lobby of DivinaLaw’s office, implying his intent to file legal action against Darryl. “Ikaw na bahala sakin ah, lalaban ako para sayo hindi ako aatras ayoko ko bastusin ang pangalan mo daddy,” Alexis added. DivinaLaw previously represented TVJ Productions in their legal dispute with TAPE Inc. As of now, Darryl Yap has not responded to the potential legal charges filed by Alexis, Richie D’Horsie’s son.
