Ex-Partner of Pambansang Kolokoy Rejects P30-M Offer from Company to Promote Gambling
MISS GRACE – The ex-partner of Pambansang Kolokoy gained attention on social media after turning down a P30 million offer from a company that wanted her to promote online gambling. In a Facebook post, she shared a copy of the contract and the cheque she received from the company, dated January 2, 2025.
Grace explained that she declined the offer because it conflicted with her values. She emphasized that she stands with Filipino families affected by the gambling industry and values integrity over financial gain. “Staying true to my values is non-negotiable,” she wrote.
This was not the first time Grace received offers from online casinos. In 2024, she turned down two separate offers—one for P20 million in April and another for P22 million in August. The P30 million offer, however, was the largest. Grace expressed that there are many legitimate ways to make money and that personal dignity and respect were more important than profiting from something she did not believe in.
Her decision was widely praised by netizens, who admired her for prioritizing her values over the potential to live comfortably from a large sum of money. In contrast, her former partner, Joel Mondina, also known as Pambansang Kolokoy, had promoted betting games, which drew criticism from the public.
The rise of online gambling in the Philippines has raised concerns among various groups, with many questioning how the government is regulating the industry, given its increasing prevalence.
Meanwhile, Maine Mendoza is among those who endorse online gambling. She decided to support Bingo Plus because she appreciates its focus on responsible gambling and dedication to fairness and transparency. Growing up in Bulacan, she has fond memories of playing games at fairs with her family, which taught her the importance of having fun while playing responsibly.
Although she understands the concerns about gambling, especially its risks, she believes that when done the right way, it can be a form of entertainment. Maine emphasizes the importance of promoting responsible play and is hopeful that her endorsement can help balance enjoyment with caution.
