John Amores Sells JRU Jersey and VP Sara Duterte’s Letter to Boss Toyo

John Amores Visits Boss Toyo to Sell His JRU Jersey and VP Sara Duterte’s Letter

JOHN AMORES – The controversial basketball player appeared on the popular YouTube show Pinoy Pawnstars, hosted by “Boss Toyo,” on January 11, bringing with him two significant items: his Jose Rizal University (JRU) basketball jersey and a letter from Vice President Sara Duterte.

Amores hoped to sell these items as part of his effort to move forward after the controversy that surrounded him in 2022. During the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 98, Amores was involved in a physical altercation with players from the College of Saint Benilde, which led to his indefinite suspension from the sport.

The controversial basketball player received a letter from Vice President Sara Duterte, who offered him words of encouragement and advice in light of the intense online criticism he faced. This letter provided Amores with some support as he navigated the aftermath of his actions.

During his appearance on Pinoy Pawnstars, John Amores brought the jersey and the letter with the hope of selling them for ₱200,000. However, Boss Toyo did not agree to the price. After consulting an expert to determine the true value of the items, they eventually agreed on a price of ₱67,500. As part of the deal, Boss Toyo asked Amores to sign both the jersey and the letter.

Currently unemployed, John Amores plans to use the money from the sale to invest in a new business venture. He is starting a lechon (roast chicken) business called “Amores Mapapa-knockout.” He also mentioned that once he becomes financially stable again, he plans to repurchase the jersey, as it holds significant personal value to him.

Meanwhile, John Amores was stripped of his professional license due to his alleged involvement in a shooting incident with other players in Laguna.
