Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte spoke anew on the impeachment complaints filed against her. Based on a report on GMA News, the Vice President said that she has ready lawyers in case charges will be filed against her. She also revealed that former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte may also be one of her lawyers if the complaints pushed through to impeachment trials.
Previously, amid the issues involving his daughter, former Pres. Duterte expressed confidence that VP Sara can handle it. He even stressed that cases may be filed against his daughter but they could not get her to prison.
Most of the impeachment complaints filed against Duterte cited the spending of the P612 million Confidential Funds of the Office of the Vice President as per the report. Recently, the Commission on Audit or COA announced that the Office of the President remains the biggest spender of the Confidential Funds.
Following the COA’s statement, Duterte called on the House members to check on the Confidential Funds of Pres. Bongbong Marcos’ office.
