Iglesia ni Cristo Explains Disagreement on the Impeachment Complaints vs. VP Sara Duterte
IGLESIA NI CRISTO – The INC is set to hold a rally to expressed its opposition on the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte is currently faced with two (2) impeachment complaints. The complaints came even after Pres. Bongbong Marcos has expressed his stand regarding the issue.
Previously, a House member confirmed that an impeachment plan is allegedly rolling in the lower chamber. Not long after it, Pres. Bongbong Marcos confirmed that told the House members not to file an impeachment complaint against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. According to him, it will not benefit even a single Filipino.
Marcos Jr. also stressed that an impeachment complaint will only tie up the Senate and the House of Representatives. According to the President, “Sara is unimportant” in the larger scheme. He made the remarks following the tirades of the Vice President against him.
Recently, Iglesia ni Cristo which is known for the members’ united decision when it comes to political matters spoke its side regarding the impeachment complaints against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. Based on a report on GMA News, the INC is against the impeachment complaints filed against the Vice President.
The INC expressed its support to Pres. Bongbong Marcos on his stand over the impeachment complaints against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The church stressed that the Philippines has many other problems that must be addressed first.
Based on the report, the Iglesia ni Cristo also revealed that their members are currently preparing to hold a rally to show their opposition on the impeachment complaints against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. It stressed that they are for peace and they don’t want any kind of conflict coming from any side.
“Ang mga kapatid sa INC ay naghahanda na magsagawa ng rally upang ipahayag sa lahat ng kinauukulan na ang INC ay pabor sa opinyon ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na hindi sumang-ayon sa isinusulong ng ilang sektor na impeachment dahil maraming problema ang ating bansa na dapat unahin ng pamahalaan,” the Iglesia ni Cristo said in its statement.
Aside from Pres. Bongbong Marcos and the INC, presidential sister and Senator Imee Marcos is also against the impeachment moves against Vice Pres. Sara Duterte. The Senator and the Vice President are visibly in good terms despite the Bongbong-Sara issue.
Amid the impeachment complaints filed against her and her remarks against the Marcoses, Vice Pres. Duterte expressed the essence of Christmas but admitted that she will not forgive.
