Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to be Transferred to Pasig City Jail

Court Orders the Transfer of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy to Pasig City Jail

PASTOR APOLLO QUIBOLOY – The leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), is set to be transferred to Pasig City Jail following a court order issued on November 22, 2024. The transfer is scheduled for 4 p.m. on November 27, 2024.

Currently under medical furlough at the Philippine Heart Center due to health concerns, Quiboloy is held at the PNP Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City. He faces serious charges, including a non-bailable qualified human trafficking case under Republic Act No. 9208 and violations under the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act (Republic Act 7610), for child abuse and exploitation.

The Pasig City court granted Quiboloy an extension of his medical furlough until November 27 due to dental issues. However, after this period, the court ordered his transfer to Pasig City Jail. The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) confirmed its readiness to take custody of Quiboloy. Despite the jail’s severe overcrowding, where cells designed for five detainees currently house up to 35, Quiboloy will be placed in a regular cell alongside other inmates.

BJMP spokesperson Jail Supt. Jayrex Bustinera assured that Quiboloy will not receive special treatment and will be treated like any other prisoner. Quiboloy will not be housed with his co-accused, Cresente Canada, who was transferred earlier. The transfer is expected to occur before 4 p.m. on November 27.

To recall, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy was arrested on September 8, 2024, in Davao City, along with several members of his group, following a series of coordinated police raids on his compound. This action followed a 24-hour ultimatum issued by the Philippine National Police (PNP). Quiboloy surrendered to the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) and was later transferred to Camp Crame.
