Lotlot de Leon Criticized by Noranians for Starring in a Film with Vilma Santos?

Lotlot de Leon Faces Backlash Over Film with Vilma Santos

LOTLOT DE LEON – The daughter of the iconic Nora Aunor, is facing backlash from some of her mother’s die-hard supporters due to her participation in the upcoming film Uninvited, which stars Vilma Santos.

The two actresses were prominent rivals during the 1970s, with Nora Aunor being a beloved “superstar” and Vilma dubbed the “Star for All Seasons.” Despite this, Lotlot clarified that her mother and Vilma share a close, friendly relationship, with Vilma even being the godmother of Lotlot’s brother Kiko. Lotlot reassured that her work in the film industry is purely professional, and she is grateful for the opportunity to work with Vilma on Uninvited.

The movie, which is an official entry to the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), marks Lotlot’s second collaboration with Vilma after their previous project, When I Met You in Tokyo, although they didn’t share scenes. This time, however, they had face-to-face interactions on screen, and Lotlot expressed how special it was to work closely with Vilma. Their warm reunion on set further reinforced their bond, as Vilma immediately sought out Lotlot, and they shared a heartfelt embrace.

In the interview with PEP.ph, Lotlot also shared her thoughts on the exciting line-up of films in the 2024 MMFF, emphasizing the vibrancy of the local film industry. She is also busy with other projects for 2025, including Unconditional, a film she is shooting under BR Film Productions. Despite facing online criticism, Lotlot remains focused on her career and is thankful for the work opportunities coming her way.

Meanwhile, Lotlot de Leon has been an active actress since 1975. She gained fame as part of the love team with Ramon Christopher Gutierrez in the late 1980s. Lotlot was married to Ramon Christopher and has four children, including actress Janine Gutierrez. After their separation, she married Fadi El Soury in 2018. She is the adoptive daughter of actors Christopher de Leon and Nora Aunor.
