Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Shares Alleged Moment when Student Asked for Pres. Marcos’ Watch
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President narrated the alleged time when she realized that her ties with Pres. Bongbong Marcos has become “toxic”.
During the 2022 Elections, the BBM-Sara was one of the strongest tandems. Following their victory in the 2022 Election, Marcos appointed Duterte to lead the Department of Education (DepEd). However, after two (2) years, the Vice President left the helm of the education department.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte resigning from being the DepEd secretary was a surprise to a lot of people. It triggered the speculations that there might be a falling out in her relationship with Pres. Marcos. She also left the cabinet of the Marcos administration.
According to Duterte, her decision to resign from being the DepEd Secretary stemmed from her compassion of the teachers and the youths. Later on, she admitted that her decision to leave the Marcos cabinet includes both personal and work reasons.
The falling out in the relationship between the President and the Vice President was witnessed by the public further as Vice Pres. Duterte apologized to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ or KOJC members for seeking support for Marcos during the 2022 Elections. Her apology came amid the Philippine National Police (PNP) conducting intensified search operations inside the KOJC compound to search for Pastor Apolo Quiboloy.
In an interview, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also claimed that she and Pres. Bongbong Marcos are not really friends. According to the Vice President, she and Marcos only talked about campaign and work. She stressed that her friend is really Senator Imee Marcos.
However, Vice Pres. Duterte claiming she told Sen. Marcos she will throw the remains of Marcos Sr. into the West Philippine Sea if the “attacks” won’t stop surprised a lot of people. It was under the administration of her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte, when the Marcos patriarch was allowed to be buried at the Heroes’ Cemetery in Taguig.
Recently, based on a report on GMA News’ Balitambayan, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also said in a press conference that she realized that her relationship with Pres. Bongbong Marcos has become toxic due to her ill imagination against him when she was annoyed.
Based on the report, the Vice President revealed that she was saddened after an alleged incident when a student asked for the watch of Pres. Bongbong Marcos as graduation gift. However, the response of the Chief Executive was he asked the student why he would give his watch.
“Sabi nung graduate, Mr. President can I have your watch as a graduation gift? Ang sagot niya, why, why would I give you my watch?” Duterte said.
The Vice President further narrated that there are also two (2) people who laughed along and she really felt sad for the student. Based on the report, she was ready to give her watch but it was only a watch of the vice president’s and not the president’s.
“It did not help na itong dalawang katabi ko tumawa pa. Pinagtawanan pa nila yung bata,” she said.
The Vice President admitted that it really sparked her annoyance and she had ill imaginations against the President. That was when she realized that their relationship is already toxic.
“Na-realize ko toxic na di ba,” she said.
Currently, the Palace or any of the members of the Marcos family has yet to comment on the recent remarks of Vice Pres. Duterte. Previously, Pres. Marcos explained why Vice Pres. Duterte is not the caretaker of the Philippines while he is away.
